PARSIPPANY, NJ -- DRS Technologies, Inc. a Finmeccanica Company announced its Sustainment Systems division has been awarded an engineering and manufacturing design (EMD) contract for the U.S. Army’s Joint Assault Bridge Program (JAB).

This EMD contract from the Army's Program Manager Force Projection, at the TACOM Lifecycle Management Command, stems from DRS’ successful design and development of relevant bridge launching technology and hardware.

DRS Technologies in partnership with Israel Military Industries (IMI), invested in the development of bridge launching technology and hardware to provide the U.S. Army with a low-risk alternative.

“DRS and IMI recognized the need to invest to develop and support the technology needs of this program,” says Joseph Matteoni, vice president and general manager of DRS Sustainment Systems, Inc. “Our proven system demonstrates our commitment to our Army customer, and we are proud to bring world-class solutions to improve soldier mobility in the field.”
