Diversified Optical Products, Inc. (DiOP) designs, manufactures and assembles complex thermal imaging optical assemblies and cameras. DiOP’s optical assemblies and cameras are used in numerous infrared applications, including firefighting, commercial night vision systems, and a wide range of surveillance requirements, while its clip-on night sights are designed for use by military and law enforcement agencies. A privately held company based in Salem, NH, DiOP sells its optical assemblies to many of the world’s leading thermal imaging original equipment manufacturers (OEM), while its thermal imaging cameras are sold directly to commercial, government, and military end users throughout the world.

Founded in 1976, DiOP has evolved from a specialized producer of infrared lens components into a leading, vertically integrated design and manufacturing company selling high-end optical assemblies and thermal imaging cameras. DIOP’s vertically integrated capabilities have enabled it to develop an expanding line of thermal imaging monitoring and surveillance cameras.

Product Selections:

Commercial-CairnsVIPER® Firefighting Thermal Imager: The CairnsVIPER 8-12µm uncooled Microbolometer firefighting camera is one of the many camera products designed and manufactured by DiOP.

The Cadet75 is the most versatile handheld lightweight thermal imager available to the markets. The Cadet weighs in at less than 1.3kg with battery. The Cadet utilizes uncooled microbolometer technology in the 320 x 240 format, providing a viewed field of 12° x 9°. The viewer is a 640 x 480 KOPN display allowing our thermal image to be displayed at the highest resolution available. Additional unique standard features are, remote controllable, alternate power source, video and audio outputs, built in microphone, optional features, frame capture of thermal image, visible channel which matches the field of view of thermal channel.

Military-Thermal Augmented Day Sights: The TADS Thermal Augmented Day Sight is the first and foremost technology advancement in thermal clip-on weapons sights. It currently represents the best value to the government based on currently available products.

The TADS commercial-off-the-shelf thermal weapon sights are a production item, which exceeds the LTWTS requirement of the TWS specification. The TADS is a lightweight clip-on thermal camera, which interfaces to the users day scope—similar to the highly successful NADS image intensifier clip-on night vision system. The TADS uses the day scope reticule as the primary sighting system. The system operates in adverse weather and battlefield scenarios including camouflaged targets, light foliage, smoke and dust.

Surveillance-

LANScout Series: The DiOP LANScout Series of long wave uncooled thermal imagers offers unique advantages in a compact all solution package. The systems utilize their exterior case as an environmentally sealed housing, eliminating the need for additional enclosures. DiOP’s proven proprietary all germanium optical system is designed to allow the uncooled sensor to operate at its maximum capability.

DiOP’s user friendly plug and play camera operation turns on with a working thermal picture, the first time and every time—without user intervention. Our RS232 remote control capability permits ease of integration into any client-based system.

Pro5 Series and ExtremeX: DiOP’s long-range mid-wave thermal imaging systems operate in the 3-5µm spectral regions, which is the best choice for marine and high humidity environments. Our systems incorporate a 320 x 256 InSb cooled focal plane array having pixels with a 30µm pitch. As with all DiOP Thermal Camera Systems, all functions are remotely controlled.

Man sized target detection at reportable ranges in excess of 8km, with identification at an amazing 2km (good conditions) far surpasses any other product available today. DiOP’s proprietary optical designs and manufacturing processes developed over the last thirty years provides these camera systems with superior performance credentials.
