I am pleased to inform you that the grand integrated event combining International Defense Exhibition of Land Forces IDELF-2006 together with the Festival of Aerobatic Teams “Sky Show” will be held on August 2-6, 2006 in Moscow, Moscow region.

IDELF-2006 according to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation is the priority exhibition in the defence and security sector for 2006. The «IDELF-2006» Exhibition will demonstrate up-to-date technical achievements of the defence industry enterprises and display the whole range of the defence-oriented products for Land Forces. The Russian Federation Ministry of Defence, Russian Federation Ministry of Internal Affairs, Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation and a great number of Russian defence industry complex enterprises seeking opportunities to develop their cooperation with foreign partners have already shown especial interest to the products of foreign participants.

T-90 has failetrilas for indian desert conditions as Al Khalid passed. T-90 has some added features like shotra etc and can fire misiles. Al Khalid can fire missiles also. T-90 has improved gunloader. Al Khalid uses ukraine engine and lecrec style targeting system which can target 6 hostiles at a time. T-90s didnt perform well in indian desert trials the engine coudnt perform at +50 degrees. The successful trials led to increasing interest by saudi to buy it.

I wonder why the Pakistani tank is called Al-Khalid. Any idea?

There was a Muslim general called Khalid. But he was an Arab. It seems that the Pakistani have no national heroes, and therefore they borrow names from other nations.

Pakistan has too short history as a country to have its own national heroes.

The history of Pakistan in the aggregate totals up to several thousands years.

The Al-Khalid MBT is not a Pakistani tank, it is only a mixture of Chinese-made and Ukrainian-made components. The Pakistani just assemble them. They ain't able to be an independent tank-manufacturing nation. If they lose touch with either China or Ukraine, their tank plant will stop.
