At Defense & Security Exhibition 2013, which is Thailand's biggest international defense exhibition, DTI (Defence Technology Institute) & Preecha Thavorn Industry demonstrated mockup of first indigenous 8x8 wheeled APC.

This mock up is just preliminary design but has many interesting features. At least some features are suitable for Royal Thai Army doctrines and requirements.

If this project is successful ,BTR-3E1 or rumoured BTR-4 purchasing will be ceased.
