The SIM-RACAR-Lambda is a tactical robot for bullet-proof surveillance designed and manufactured by the German company SIM Security & Electronic System GmbH. This system falls within the category of HSM (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) specially adapted for reconnaissance and combat applications. The SIM RACAR-Lambda is a small tracked vehicle, with protection capabilities against ballistic weapons of automatic guns of 7.62 mm caliber, on which can be mounted surveillance cameras or light weaponry. The robot is controlled from a portable control unit, operated by a single man. This tactical crawler is designed to help make tactical decisions at a safe distance.
Description
The SIM RACAR system with its Unmanned Ground Vehicle model Lambda has enough space to transport reconnaissance equipment and is used as a platform for small arms or tactical equipment. The SIM RACAR Lambda can be equipped with two internal cameras, as well as with several external cameras that provide high-resolution video images, which are transmitted by the SIM-MILAN-Lite digital system, from the robot to the unit Portable operation control OCU (Operator Control Unit). The OCU is equipped with a joystick that allows the operator to carry out all the movement operations of the robot. In addition, a bidirectional data transmission system allows the operator to remotely control all information concerning the equipment installed on the robot. The robot is equipped with tracks that allow a high mobility in off-road. The robot's shell is protected against ballistic threats and blast effects.
