CROWS-Javelin (CROWS-J) is a version of the CROWS II remote controlled weapon station, additionally equipped with FGM-148 Javelin ATGM launcher. In some sources it was mentioned under the name CROWS III. Initially tested instead of CROWS II on the wheeled Stryker IFV in tactical configuration.

During the tests, the missiles hit targets at a distance of 500 and 1000 meters, which confirmed the successful integration of the unified system. Integration includes a new frame installed on the vehicle on which the fire control unit and the remote-control system are installed.

The infantry transported by Stryker were previously equipped with Javelin missiles, but they were fired in a rushed or manual method. Using the CROWS-J weapon station allows to hit armored targets while remaining under the armor protection of the hull.

In 2014, the Indian company Tata Motors for the first time presented at the DEFEXPO exhibition a Kastrel 8x8 wheeled armored vehicle developed by the Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) with the participation of the British company Supacat. Vehicle presented at the exhibition was equiped with a 30 mm gun and a 7.62 mm machine gun. In addition, as an auxiliary weapon on the turret was installed a weapon station, similar to CROWS II with Javelin ATGM.

In 2015, a plan was approved for the rearmament of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment of the US Army (known as the "dragoons"), based in Vilsek, Germany. The plan provided for equipping 87 Stryker vehicles with new CROWS-J weapon stations. Supplies, which began in June 2017, should be completed by March 2018.
