The COFT XXI project was undertaken to upgrade training, modernize computer technology, and to update the COFT heating and cooling system. This work, conducted to upgrade an older Institutional Trainer, included the upgrading of Abrams Tank and Bradley Fighting Vehicle crew gunnery training systems. Both Abrams and Bradley gunnery standards were upgraded by the Armor Center and Infantry Center since the original COFT systems were fielded. Raydon upgraded both of these training systems in accordance with appropriate U.S. Army gunnery and scoring standards, and the U.S. Army and National Guard SMEs tested the systems . One COFT XXI upgrade was for an M1A1 Abrams Tank and one for an M2A2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle. All was accomplished within schedule and budget.
