Armadillo is an easy "tossed" robot.
This robotic complex was created in several variants, maximally unified among themselves.
Modifications Armadillo V3.5 and Armadillo V4.0 have a mass of 3.13 kg and 3.70 kg respectively. It can withstand a fall from a height of up to 2.5 m or a horizontal flight of 8 meters and can start working immediately after the throw. Both versions are equipped with Picatinny planks for the installation of various sensors or devices (for example, IED deactivation device, manipulator, thermal imager) with a total weight of up to 3 kg. 360° view provides full color cameras installed on all sides of the vehicle. On the V4.0 version, the front camera can tilt, and there is also a backlight in the visible and IR bands on all four sides. While version V3.5 has two cameras, front and rear IR illumination. The first has dimensions of 29.5 x 27 cm, the second - 32 x 26.5 cm. Both robots are equipped with a microphone and an optional GPS system, as well as a digital accelerometer.
The control system has a range of up to 300 m in line of sight (in indirect visibility of 200 m). Rubber wheels with a diameter of 130 mm allow Armadillo robots to overcome gradients of 45 degrees. In addition to them, you can install a set to overcome the steps, which includes flippers and rubber caterpillars instead of wheels. The maximum speed of movement is 3 km/h, the cost of batteries is enough for 3.5 hours of operation.
The next version - Armadillo V4.5 - was designed to increase the speed of movement and payload. This robot has a larger number of connectors for connecting various devices and is specially designed for the neutralization of explosive objects. He takes the starting position with any transfers and opportunities to overcome the step of the stairs. Weight 6.9 kg, dimensions 57 x 30 cm, speed up to 5 km/h, the range of control - up to 500 m.
