The VN6A tracked infantry fighting vehicle is designed to transport a squad of 8 soldiers with their equipment, and give direct fire support to dismounted infantry with 30mm cannons and Red Arrow 73 series ATGMs. Its enhanced firepower can effectively destroy light armoured vehicles, fortified structures and personnel targets.
The VN6A tracked infantry fighting vehicle is the upgraded version of NORINCO's VN6 tracked IFV. It uses a Deutz BF6M1015 turbocharged diesel engine, developing 240kW with lower fuel consumption, which significantly improves the reliability and lifespan of the VN6A IFV. Also, its air cleaning system, -cooling system and electric system are all enhanced to achieve better performance in high temperature areas such as in a desert.
The VN6A IFV features very low profile, high speed and full amphibious capability. Its steeply sloped front armour provides full protection against 0.50 AP/API rounds.
