NORINCO's new VN5 light tracked infantry fighting vehicle is developed based on an airborne IFV used by the Chinese armed forces. It is ideal for armoured reconnaissance troops and special operation troops to accompany MBTs or to execute expedition missions alone.

The VN5 light IFV can also provide direct fire support to infantry in urban areas as well as various terrains, and effectively destroy light armoured vehicles, fortified structures and personnel targets.

VN5 features good strategic mobility and excellent cross-country capability. Its armament options include a 30mm cannon/Red Arrow 73 ATGM turret, a 12.7mm/14.5mm MG turret and a remote control weapon station, etc. Armour protection can be enhanced by fitting applique armour.
