The latest vehicle to enter service with the Mexican Army is the DN-VII Lince scout car. This is very similar to the now Renault Trucks Defense VBL (4 × 4) light scout car, which was developed to the prototype stage for the French Army but not placed in production. The three-man crew consists of commander, gunner and driver and the vehicle is armed with a single HK21A1 7.62 mm machine gun. The DIM-I is a reconnaissance vehicle while the DIM-II is a VIP transport vehicle. Basic specifications are given in the table.
