Perkins Engines Company 100 Series comprises a range of compact diesel engines with outputs from 6.3 lo37kW(3.5to50 bhp) in two-, three-and four-cylinder configurations and capabilities from 0.5 to 2.2 litres.

These compact, lightweight engines are ideally suited for both man-portable and vehicle-mounted Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) powering electrical, hydraulic or air conditioning systems.

Proven in military service, the three-cylinder, 0.7 litre engine was selected by the British Army as the power supply for air conditioning units in Challenger 1 during the Gulf campaign. The three-cylinder 1 litre model has. been supplied to Gallay Ltd, as an APU for the Egyptian Fahd (4 x 4) wheeled armoured vehicle.

ADI Technology Inc has recently been awarded a contract to supply prototype APU's based on the 103.10 engine for the demonstration/validation stage of the US Marine Corps Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV) programme.

Status

Production. In service with a number of countries including Egypt.
