KADDB was established by Royal Decree in August 1999 to provide an indigenous capability for the supply of independent, high-quality, efficient and cost-effective scientific and technical services to the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF). KADDB is structured as an independent Governmental military-civilian agency existing within the JAF. KADDB operates as a Trading Fund and is tasked with operating to best commercial practice with pre-determined performance targets. KADDB is financed through the defence vote as well as by income earned from its customers. KADDB employs approximately 200 military and civilian personnel within its two Strategic Business Units (SBUs). The majority of its staff work in the Engineering Group located within the King Hussein Main Workshops.
