WIDE SPECTRUM (400-20.000nm)

ELECTRONIC CAMOUFLAGE COATINGS

INTERMAT GROUP S.A. is specialized in the research, development and trading of electronic camouflage coatings for protection in Short, Medium and Far (thermal) Infrared spectrum in wavelength ranging from 400-20.000nm.

INTERMAT offers the most technically advanced anti – detection coatings, state of the art products, unique for their anti-thermal/IR performance, providing complete protection to the coated Assets and Facilities against the updated Weapon Systems of Land, Air and Satellite working in wavelength 400-20.000nm (NVGs, FLIRs, Laser Detectors, Night Vision observation-surveillance systems, LANTIRN, Rec Satellites, etc).

INTERMAT coatings are of Modulated IR Performance with different performances protect the valuable assets and facilities 365 days a year, adapting their performance to the individual background of the season merging the IR signatures. They confuse the image processing capabilities due to big spots that they create on the coated surface of the target, changing the expected original target’s IR shape.

A variety of anti-thermal/IR performances have been designed due to principal necessity of black and white spots creation on the coated surfaces, in order to merge as much as possible with the background in which they are operating through the year.

With certain type and combination of various anti-thermal/IR performance INTERMAT coatings, Fixed Assets have the same with their environmental surrounding IR signature, making them invisible to short range (NVGs, FLIRs, LANTIRN, etc) & long range (Rec Satellites) surveillance techniques.

Areas with strategic facilities, like a war airport, runways, landing ways made of asphalt or concrete, special aircrafts’ floors, aircraft shelters, as well as buildings or ammunitions dumps, coated with INTERMAT coatings are defined as rural areas, small ruined houses and various elements of nature when detected by LANTIRN targeting systems.

B. Mobile Targets

There is no doubt, that survival of military means in the modern battlefield is the key point for their designing and manufacturing. Low signature (reduced thermal trace) is one of the main objectives for manufacturers but mainly for users.

The tradition: " it cannot be seen, it cannot be struck " remains very much alive. It is better to prevent armoured vehicle’s detection than to be forced to defend in an attack engagement. From this point, signature management with camouflage or other methods of signatures reduction must be considered as a very important part of any DAS incorporated system.

The principle design for Mobile targets’ camouflage, is to cover all the surfaces of the desired for protection vehicle, tank, carrier, etc. with the proper INTERMAT coating, following specific guide lines in order to equalize the IR signature of the asset with the IR signature of the surrounding area. Using INTERMAT coatings with higher or lower reflectance on the coated surface (spots) deform vehicle’s IR shape confusing the thermal image shape process.

Therefore is achieved:

1. long delay in the identification process by the enemy sensors, gives to the friendly forces the advantage to approach closer and of course to fire first.

2. the modern image processing methods applied by the 3rd gen. FLIR systems & Thermal sensors are unable to define the IR shape of the protected by INTERMAT coatings asset.

3. Make the enemy unable to engage and lock on the coated friendly asset even in that a minimum firing range (the resolution capability is under limit for appropriate shaping process of the target)
