Mobile Land Systems (Pty) Ltd – is a limited liability company incorporated in accordance with the laws of South Africa under licence number 2009/009457/07. Mobile Land Systems (Pty) Ltd is registered with the National Conventional Arms Control Committee (NCACC) a statutory body controlling conventional arms manufacture, export and import into and out of South Africa. Mobile Land Systems (Pty) Ltd is a relatively young company established in June 2009 after the CEO Dewald Hattingh broke away from being the COO of Integrated Convoy Protection (ICP) the manufacturers of the REVA range of vehicles. In 2009 Mobile Land Systems (Pty) Ltd designed and developed the CAPRIVI Mk 1 4×4 APC Mine Resistant and Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle. The design team is currently designing a range of vehicles ranging from mine protected ambulances, Vehicle recoveries, Weapon platforms, and Command and Control vehicles. We are also well advanced in the designing and R&D of a 6×6 HMV on request for a few interested clients. The ownership and management of Mobile Land Systems (Pty) Ltd includes former military officers, military vehicle engineers and designers who are able to provide top-class individual solutions based on the client’s need. IP’s and data packs can and will be changed according to the specific needs of individual client. MLS is strategically working on opening 3 international fronts namely Far east, Africa and South America, but our interest is not only directed into these areas. MLS has been awarded a contract in China for a high profile company and a few MRAP vehicles are currently under trails in China. Positive negotiations are still underway in a few African countries. Brazil has been visited and relationships have been established. Mobile Land Systems (Pty) Ltd is a prime contractor that specialises in providing innovative and specialised solutions for landward requirements of defence, security and humanitarian aid clients. MLS designs, develops and produces vehicles for military, public security and humanitarian aid tasks with a particular emphasis on mine and ballistic superiority. We serve clients in military, public safety and humanitarian fields. One of Mobile Land Systems (Pty) Ltd objectives is to operate within the international regulatory framework governing this industry. Our objective is, and always has been, to contribute to global peace and security. Mobile Land Systems (Pty) Ltd also provides customised and specialised vehicle advisory services, vehicle maintenance programmes, field equipment, operational driver training programmes, and documentation services necessary to support the vehicle. Mobile Land Systems (Pty) Ltd is a leader in the design and development of state of the art technologies which it aims to manufactures in locations throughout the world. The vehicle with its unique double step monocoque hull, is designed to withstand triple anti-tank landmines, and can be configured to perform a number of different functions. This means that armies can deploy with one basic vehicle in the fleet, making maintenance and repair much easier and more efficient. This is a complete design that has some of the highest levels of mine protection in the world today. The Stanag4569 level 3 ballistic protection and very high levels of side blast protection to defeat improvised explosive devices, makes this the vehicle that troops wants to take to the battlefield. All the armoured steel and windows has been tested and passed the standard International Stanag 4569 tests. This vehicle is field repairable and can be put back into operation within a few hours of having hit an anti-tank landmine. MLS has the vision that the CAPRIVI range of vehicles can be produced anywhere in the world. We are open for discussions on transferring of skills and development of a workforce. Joined Ventures can be established in any country acceptable to the Security Council and this enhances job creation and skills development. This arrangement can be especially beneficial to African countries and as the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon called for greater support for African Union troops serving in Somalia and argued that AU troops should receive the same support as UN personnel. During a recent special UN Security Council debate on the war in Somalia African states also raised their complaints about its troops getting poorer treatment than those on mainstream UN missions. MLS’s sister company “MOBILE LAND SOLUTIONS” also provides marketing services for a number of defence related companies. This invaluable marketing service provides companies with proven niche products and services on a wide international exposure at a low marketing cost level. Many defence related products ranging from “Flack jackets to night sight equipments and gun mounts has since been delivered in many war torn regions. South Africa has become a major exporter of military hardware. According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, the country was the world’s 17th largest arms explorer in the period between 2004 and 2008, while over the decade 2000-2009 its military spending increased in real terms by 40 percent. In 2008, it sold more than $2.5 billion worth of equipment, munitions and other components to 96 countries, according to a report by the New York Times. This year the increase is even more with the majority of sales going to the US and UK. |
