Their kits are made of lightweight armour materials that provide maximum vehicle protection without limiting automotive performance.

Composite steel, composite ceramics and highly pressed fibres developed by Plasan Sasa provide the occupants with protection against small arms fire up to 7.62 mm in calibre, grenades and anti-personnel mines. Bullet proof windows provide the same level of protection as the remainder of the armoured body.

Typical vehicles up-armoured for military applications include AM General HMMWV (4 x 4) and Land Rover (4 x 4) with large numbers of the former used by the Israel Defence Force.
