MILAN is a medium range wire guided infantry weapon (with a range from 25 to 2,000 metres) for anti-tank warfare and multi-role strikes against ground targets.
The MILAN 3 system is the latest version. It has been in production since 1996 and due to its 2T (tandem) military warhead it can destroy modern reactive armour. With an upgraded kill potential and even better resistance to jamming and decoying, MILAN 3 is offered as new equipment or as an upgrade of existing equipment for customers already equipped with the MILAN 1, 2 or 2T.

In mass production. 330,000 missiles and 10,000 firing units of MILAN 1, 2, 2T and 3 versions have been produced. 230,000 of the missiles were built co-operatively by MBDA and LFK and 100,000 under licence in Spain, India and the United Kingdom..
MILAN is in service in 43 countries and has 75% of the world market for medium range anti-tank weapons, including the United States but excluding the CIS and China. It has demonstrated its capabilities in combat (Lebanon, Iran-Iraq, Falklands, Chad, Afghanistan...). During the Gulf war in 1991, 92% of firings hit their targets.
