CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products has been awarded a $289 million contract from the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command (Quantico, Va.) to develop, design, integrate, produce and install Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Counter Measure systems. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract also funds logistic, technical and field service support for the high-powered RCIED jamming systems in support of the Global War on Terrorism. General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products is a business unit of General Dynamics. Work will be performed in Burlington, Vt. (23 percent); Hanahan, S.C. (22 percent); and Sterling Heights, Mich. (7 percent). Canada-based subcontractor Med-Eng Systems will be responsible for 48 percent of work, with a significant portion being performed in Wisconsin. Work is expected to be completed by July 2006. |
