Canister Round

The canister round is intended for close-in defence of tanks against massed assaulting infantry attack and to break up infantry concentrations, between a range of 200-500 metres, by discharging large numbers of metallic balls from the main cannon. The canister round has not yet found a universal acceptance of tank designers as a type of tank ammunition. However, it might be very useful in 'tanks versus infantry soldiers' engagements, like those that occur nowadays in the Middle East. |
