The Bushmaster MR6 4x4 is a new version of an wheeled armored vehicle based on the proven Bushmaster family.

The Bushmaster MR6 was first demonstrated by Thales at the International Armored Vehicles Conference IAV 2018 in London. The vehicle is being promoted as a candidate for the British Multi-Role Vehicle (Protected) (MRV (P)) program. For the conference, the company selected the medical machine option, and also talked about the configuration of the armored personnel carrier - these are two of the seven configurations required by the British Army.

The new model received an increased level of armoring, with improved ballistic and mine protection, and with the possibility of installing additional protection from RPG and fire fighting protection.

To compensate for additional weight, the power of the vehicle is increased by a new 330-horsepower EURO-3 engine with a corresponding six-speed automatic transmission. Also improved suspension, installed anti-lock braking system (ABS), which is an obligatory safety function for the UK. The central tire inflation system is improved thanks to a more powerful air pumping. The vehicle also has a bidirectional winch. Its maximum range is 800 km. It is also capable of overcoming a water obstacle with a depth of 1.50 meters.

With an enlarged rear compartment, the MR6 received an increased volume of protected space, which, together with a reinforced suspension, makes it possible to carry additional loads up to two tons and provides a total of up to 10 troops, in addition to two crew members. The vehicle can be equipped with an overhead or remotely controlled weapon station, or a turret, in which various weapons can be integrated, up to 30 mm in caliber.

The vehicle is designed to meet the British requirements for the integral computing system (ICS), compatible with the Ground Vehicle Architecture (GVA). It is equipped with a 360 A alternator and a power management system that allows to receive an additional up to eight kilowatts from an optional auxiliary power unit.
