Seen for the first time early in 1989 was an armoured vehicle-launched bridge. It is based on the lengthened Vijayanta chassis used for the 130 mm Catapult self-propelled artillery system. This has been fitted with a scissors-type bridge of Eastern European design and is launched and recovered over the front of the chassis.
