Deutsche EXIDE Standby GmbH, Germany, is a member of EXIDE Technologies, U.S.A., world leader in lead acid batteries (www.networkpower.exide.com). It is the former Accumulatorenfabrik Sonnenschein GmbH, Budingen, Germany, which was founded 1910 in Berlin and invented the Gel-Technology (dryfit) in 1957. The production range comprises batteries with capacities from 1 - 3.000 Ah. In 1980 Sonnenschein developed dryfit batteries for military applications and is main supplier of the German Army and other armies in: Austria, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Norway, United Kingdom,Spain, Singapore etc.
