Hardwire, LLC was originally founded in 1999 by George Tunis. Tunis's previous company, a joint venture with DuPont named Hardcore/DuPont, was the premiere vacuum infusion molding company responsible for the award winning composite rail car, bridge deck, piling, marine structures and passenger rail car programs that launched vacuum infusion into the composite market place. Throughout his career he has has molded millions of lbs of composites using all types of processes, fibers and resins, and was responsible for 3 infusion patents,……credited with turning infusion inside out through the use of micro grooves placed in core materials,….the techniques predominately used today in most vacuum infusion production environments.

Hardwire LLC was founded with the simple goal of discovering solutions to the every day problems faced by all composite companies pushing the envelope of scale, process and customer acceptance in the composite, concrete, retrofit and wood reinforcement markets. In short, traditional composite choices came up short…….and Hardwire was born to fill the gap. Through 4 years of extensive development working with customers using a variety of batch and continuous processes, Hardwire evolved from a concept to a full commercial reality. Pain staking attention to detail, obsessive commitment to excellence, and a deep understanding of the process and structural requirements of the material lead to the highly evolved material Hardwire represents. Hardwire provides designers, process engineers, and customers new answers to achieving superior stiffness, process speed, robustness, and long-term performance.
