The R-Trooper UGV has a mass of 800 kg.
It was developed by Thales Land&Joint Systems, a division of Thales, in 2010, for the French Ministry of Defense.
The UGV is based on the all-wheel drive 6-wheel chassis and is designed for a wide range of missions:
- surveillance and reconnaissance
- security perimeter monitoring and patrolling
- inspection of hazardous areas
- neutralization of mines and improvised explosive devices
An interesting feature of this UGV is that it can be a carrier of two small-sized reconnaissance robots μ-Trooper, which are manufactured by the same company, which significantly expands its capabilities for remote reconnaissance and observation.
Dimensions - 2,8 x 1,6 x 1,35 m, payload - 250 kg, speed - up to 50 km / h, gradient - 30 degrees, descent - up to 45 degrees, duration of continuous operation - up to 8 hours. Powered by electric motor. The composition of the payload may include various reconnaissance equipment, or sensors for CBRN reconnaissance. In addition to the remote control mode, there is also an autonomous mode of patrolling along a given route. UGV's on-board system includes survey day and night cameras, laser 2D and 3D scanners, a GPS satellite navigation system.
